Case was a member of the scientific writing staff at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory from 1973 to 1980, when he left to become an independent scientist and consultant on science and technology communication and public policy issues. He has been a consultant on NASA’s Mars mission preparation and preparation for Mars surface exploration missions for over twenty years, and has spoken before Congress on issues related to Mars exploration and NASA’s public affairs programs. Dr.
Case also serves as founding editor of the journal Advances in Space Research (ASR) and has established an interdisciplinary academic center for space research at Arizona State University, called The Center for Space Research (CSR).
